Issue by gamerdude200808: Can I get Invisalign with Prognathism? (Dentists and Orthos ONLY, please)?
I have some crooked teeth and have gaps wherever the stated crooked teeth need to be introduced collectively.

I am declining jaw surgery…an ortho that I went to mentioned that I would need a massively pricey jaw surgical treatment that I A) Cannot find the money for proper now (and no insurance coverage pays for it) B) I do not want it, interval.

I’m a 27 calendar year previous adult…I am done developing, and if this is as “undesirable” as it will get, I can deal with it. I don’t care if my bite is somewhat off size-wise…images are taken from the front, not the side. Supposedly I have a Course three Prognathism…the best teeth are “behind” the bottom teeth. The stupid orthodontist sat there for almost certainly 20 minutes even though my mom (who happened to be with me at that time because we had other places to go) and I listened to him bash on men and women…from Jay Leno to Michael Jordan to other men and women. He talked about folks like he was “greater”…his smile was out of line (like a slanted heading ‘up’ as if the teeth were shorter as they progressed to a single side). He bashed on people’s facial attributes…he had a large azz nose, himself. He generally came small of expressing I had a “Jay Leno chin similar to that of a bulldog.” I have difficulties believing that my condition is as negative as he claimed. He also desired to search in my mother’s mouth to “see if other folks in my family members” had the situation. However, the guy he wanted me to go have jaw surgical treatment by…happens to be his buddy from the higher education he went to. A former classmate and school buddy…he explained that guy was “the only one particular he knew of” that did the jaw surgery. Which helps make me even far more suspicious, and also which I do not want.

I am missing some teeth congentially on leading and bottom. 7, ten, 24 and 25. My dentist verified that 24 and 25 are newborn teeth – however healthy, they will have to go at some level and be replaced with implants. 7 and ten, I am also organizing to get implants.

I do not see my bottom jaw getting so “way” out of line. Certainly, I do have a little bit of Prognathism/underbite. I can experience with my finger and also see evidently that my bottom front teeth are perhaps 1.5mm or 2mm, if even that significantly, in advance of the best. It can be not even apparent…what is noticeable are the gaps in which the missing teeth are, and the crooked teeth. I am hunting into seeing if I can get Invisalign to straighten the teeth…and the identical location that also does Invisalign does Implants and other beauty issues. What they do not look to use is normal braces. They are 1 of the pioneers of beauty dentistry and also of Invisalign. Will Invisalign work well ample to straighten my teeth and make the implants feasible (the areas are a little way too modest for the implants at the moment)? I just want straight teeth…and to fill the gaps. I do not care about the Prognathism.
Outsider – Which “replacements” are you referring to? Invisalign is worn in a sequence of trays…made by a laptop or computer and store in their database. While a single should not “shed” any…if you do, I am confident they can make yet another a single fairly simply.

Surgery is required to fix an underbite if the problem is being caused by a skeletal deformity.

If your underbite is caused solely because your teeth are crooked, then all you will need is braces and Invisilign MIGHT work for you, but only an authorized Invisilign-approved orthodontist will be able to answer this question. A friend of mine has Invisilign aligners for a slight overjet and she’s doing quite well with them.

If you’re having issues with an orthodontist, get a 2nd and 3rd or even 4th opinion. Most orthodontists do their consultations for free and they can’t (or shouldn’t) complain if you go to another orthodontist.

If your problem is a skeletal deformity, like mine is, they can slant the teeth to help correct the bite, but this does not put your teeth in their proper positions and only masks the problem. The only way to completely correct it is through orthognathic surgery. Also, if your underbite is caused by a skeletal deformity, see your primary care physician immediately. Class III malocclusions ARE covered under MEDICAL insurance – this is not a dental problem, it’s a problem with the bones of the skull. I’ve already shown my x-rays to my physician and she gave me a referral to an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMS) in my medical group which means that my surgery will most likely be covered under my medical insurance.

I’ve already gotten started with braces and am looking forward to surgery in the next 6-18 months, depending on how my treatment with braces goes. Good luck!
